【Statement】
Hiroki Takeda is an artist who continuously depicts an ideal world where life coexists through the gentle medium of watercolor painting. In this solo exhibition, to pursue “a world where other forms of life are not sacrificed by human-centric values”, he has turned his attention to the culture and art of the Edo period, a time before industrialization, and created a series of works that pay homage to “Ukiyo-e”.
This is also a challenge to carry on the sprit of “Honka-dori”, a practice of poetic allusion that has been continued in Japanese culture for centuries. We warmly invite you to visit the exhibition.
