Pigeons, a bird that is seen in both extremes, as a symbol of peace and as a hated member of the city. I painted these pigeons with simple colors and lines that I felt comfortable with. Each pigeon has a slightly different shape and hue, but as a whole they form a harmonious flock. By using simple lines and limited coloring, I tried to express harmony in diversity by depicting the coexistence of the birds in one piece, while respecting their individuality. I hope that the harmony created by the pigeons will leave a pleasant impression on those who come into contact with the work. The title "Alléluia" comes from a very personal experience. In a journey where I did not speak the language, I happened to see the word "Alléluia" in a church I entered. It describes the experience of feeling the universal meaning and joy of the word at the moment I realized it was "Hallelujah. This work is about the joy of discovery, of "I get it!" and the beauty it shares across languages and cultures. Every year, I draw a new work on this theme and title it with the year. This is the 2024 edition.
