I decided to investigate the question of the difference between the Kanji characters for "skin" and "leather". The semantic difference between the Chinese characters for "skin" and "leather" is whether the skin has been "tanned" or not. The unprocessed skin of an animal is "skin," and "leather" is the skin that has been "tanned" and processed for use as a product. We noticed that animal "leather" exists, but vegetable fruit "leather" does not yet exist. Fruit skins have the characteristics of being brightly colored to stand out for seed propagation, and thick skins to protect the fruit inside from impact and drying. However, many people discard the peel. I decided to produce "leather" from vegetable fruits, hoping to make use of the characteristics of the skins, while at the same time increasing the number of options other than discarding them.
