This is a work from the "Post-Antropocene" series, which is created with the image of a life form that will appear in the not-so-distant future. Lekoa (lekgoa) means "gentile" in the African language. The title of this work is taken from a line in George Orwell's novel "1984," published in 1949. 35 years later, Orwell left a world in the near future in his novel, and in 2059, 35 years after 2024, there may be life forms different from ours. A life form that has lost what we had, and conversely is losing what we are losing. Even if the affections and perceived truths of those life forms are different from those we have, there remains hope. At all times.

Concept
I am interested in the boundary area where human society and nature rub against each other, and I use trees in my work. I use a combination of mechanized tools, such as chainsaws and router machines, and traditional hand tools, such as chisels and chisels, to create my works, which are based on the motif of headless near-future animals. The works are given relatively long titles, which are mainly words taken from literary works or passages from philosophical books in which the artist has already died. My work attempts to displace preconceived notions by mixing the forms of near-future animals with words left behind by people who have already died.
