    'Moving figure' is an abstracted human figure, a vivid being. The Belgian Hardstone figure is small but quite strong. The stone is sculpted and completely polished. In the black skin, fossils show the ancient character of the stone.

    Concept

    Nature in it's purity, that's what fascinates me. I love the volume, the movement, the texture and the natural quality of stone. In stone of all different kinds, I find unlimited possibilities to express my meanings. I prefer abstract language. My ultimate goal is a sculpture. It has an immense expression with a great sense of freedom.
    With their strong and subtle presence, abstract sculptures are a surprising element in a realistic environment. A sublimized accent in a concrete world of tables, chairs, vases and living creatures.
    For more than 35 years I am making sculptures of natural stone. I have studied Dutch laguage and literature, combined with art history and aesthetics. I love the freedom of investigation, the sculptures are the result of characterful research and endless experimentation. When I experience that the sculpture fits in a big trail of authentic forms, loose of history, culture and background, I am satisfied. Happy and free for my next endeavour.

    Does this art work need a frame?

    In many cases, art works with a canvas stretched over a wooden frame can be displayed as is. Thin art works other than canvases are easier to frame. For any questions or concerns please chat us.

    Are there other sizes for a similar type of artwork?

    What kind of hardware should I use for hanging the artwork?

    • If you are concerned about repayment costs, such as when renting a house, wall pins and hooks that do not leave noticeable hole marks are available at major DIY Store and art supply stores.
    • If you want to hang a canvas with a hook, a hook type with a long hooking surface, such as a V-shaped type is recommended.
    • If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.

    What happens after purchase?

    • You will receive an email after we confirm the shipping date with the artist.
