The entire surface of the sphere is covered with motifs of a girl with colorful hair and flowers. Each of them seems to be looking at someone or dreaming. The broken ceramic objects and the nameless girls are superimposed on each other. For the main lines, the artist uses a decorative technique called "line carving," which is often seen in traditional Okinawan techniques, and for the coloring, he uses "mud painting" with decorative clay and pigments. The title piece, "Flowering Daughters," is one of a series he has created intermittently since he was a student at his alma mater, Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts.
