    Description

    1. Making it with Taiwanese clay which contains great amount of minerals such as Iron(III) oxide. This helps make the water softer when brewing tea. Firing at 1230℃ high temperature with electric kiln instead of wood-firing to minimize the pollution to environment.
    2. 5 elements describe interactions between things in the universe. FIRE appears when firing the teapot in the kiln. WOOD is the body which we mimic with clay. METAL is the iron parts made of clay. WATER appears when we brew tea . EARTH is the ONLY element we use to make the entire teapot! When adding water into teapot, five elements operate and bring out energy. They form a balance where the interactive process is being constantly repeated, hence forming a never ending circle.
    3. Entirely using Taiwanese clay to mimic wood and metal. (Seeing is not believing!) Insisting on making with our hands rather than machine or wheel. By pinching the clay, we make the structure more compact and dense.

  • About this artist

    Concept

    **Features of Hand-Pinched (Handmade) Teapots**

When crafting a teapot, it’s important to focus not only on its artistic and diverse aesthetic appeal but also on enhancing its functionality. Key aspects include the tightness of the lid, the elegance of the pour, the thickness of the pot walls, the composition of the clay, and the control of temperature—all of which can significantly affect the taste of the tea.

    **Method of Making Handmade Teapots:**

Handmade teapots are crafted using Taiwan clay, fired at a high temperature of 1230°C. The technique of hand pinching not only showcases the artistic aspects of the teapot but also improves its functionality and increases the density of the clay. The process of making a teapot involves energy, vigor, and spirit, giving each piece a lively and vivid quality.
