This work is an iridescent bronze sculpture inspired by the many science fiction films that Takahiro Komuro was familiar with as a child. Born and based in Tokyo, Komuro grew up in an area dotted with many metalworking factories, and from an early age he was interested in creating toys out of clay, wood, metal, and stone. In past interviews, Komuro has stated that "the very act of creating sculpture is sacred," and Ground Dragon is a work worthy of this spirit.
