When I read Du Fu's "Thatched Houses Broken by the Autumn Wind" in school, I would only sigh at the sadness of an old man who had nothing to fall back on, whose only thatched hut was broken by the wind, and the children from the same village had to playfully snatch it away.
The importance of "housing", especially for the Chinese, is a place to settle down, the foundation of life. In the past two years, a large number of bad buildings began to appear, and now when their own houses are facing the risk of collapse, there is nothing they can do, it seems that the problem of "house" has been a problem for ordinary people since ancient times. Can art solve the problem? As Chen Danqing said: art is not useful for individuals and society, but we and this society will be better if there is art ...... may be, it is at least a window of expression for me, people always need to have a release point for emotions.
I always think about how to define the meaning of "chivalry" in Chinese culture when I create the "Chivalry Series", which should be more of a conscience and toughness for me and Chinese people, but it often goes against the "stability and harmony" of society. But it often goes against the "stability and harmony" of society, so we often interpret it as a kind of resistance and unyielding. Our bodies have long since ceased to belong to us, so why should we let our minds be bound as well?
"We can have ten million houses, and shelter all the cold people in the world."
When walking with a sword, the sword is a kind of emotional support, which can provide us with strength beyond the physical body. In the past, the sword was in the body, but today it is in the heart.
In this work, the sword carries the dwelling place in Du Fu's heart that keeps the cold people of the world safe from the elements and gives a place to return to for those souls who have no place to rest. They tower on the top of the mountains, quietly forming a continuous trend, near and seemingly out of reach.
