Description

Mino tile craftsmen, who are fascinated by the world of tradition, have created this "Onigawara" bowl with great skill and sincerity.
This delicately and elaborately finished bowl is baked by an onigawara craftsman who graduated from the sculpture department of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music using the Mino tile manufacturing method. It can be used as a bonsai pot, flower pot, or as an interior decoration.
Because it takes time to make, dry, and put in the pot, it will be delivered in 1 to 3 months after purchase. Please contact the site for details.

Concept

Gifu is located in the center of Japan. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and rivers, it is a traditional city with many cultural buildings. Mino tiles are high quality smoked tiles made using traditional techniques, and have been used mainly in the construction of temples and shrines and in the restoration of cultural properties. When a roof is thatched, tiles designed to protect the eaves from evil are called onigawara. Onishi are the people who inherit the various techniques used to create onigawara. The two Onigens of Onikenawara are said to be the "last Onishi" of Mino tiles. In order not to let this technique die out, we would like to invite as many people as possible to enjoy the rare works created by the two.
