"Lake of songs" has been inspired by Ikebana, the ancient Japanese art of flower arrangement. Flowers are placed in vases, according to a formalized ritual, mirroring the principles of the universe. Artifacts of branches, leaves, grains and seeds, fruit and flowers are bound together in abstraction and simplicity, offering a depiction of the relationships between man, earth, and sky, in a celebration of the cycle of life and death, and a solemn promise of rebirth.
