Sculpture made of melted paper.
The shapes were made from debris and driftwood collected after a storm on the Sicilian coast. It was a long and complex job, first the molds were made, then filled with melted paper and left to dry naturally. The sculptures have cracks and imperfections that were not corrected in the creation of the molds precisely to respect the passage of time and convey their beauty even if a little faded.
For the background, on which to place the sculptures in the frame (included), handmade mulberry paper with irregular edges was chosen to continue the natural taste of these reliefs.
"Coast of Sicily" is a series of sculptures that convey serenity. They are pieces that embody minimalist elegance, evoking a tranquil atmosphere. An inspiring exploration of contemporary art, they capture the essence of calm and the beauty of simplicity.
