This symbolic work is inspired by the story of nature's cycles. When the "whale," the largest sea creature on earth, loses consciousness, its body sinks to the bottom of the sea and becomes food for a variety of creatures, and in the end, its large bones become a home for weak and small creatures. I wanted to create a work that would allow the viewer to feel, even if only a little, such a natural order and cycle, and to be a part of the great circle of the world, which was the impetus for the creation of this work. The "penguins," which stand quietly if you look closely, symbolize the loveliness of nature's creatures that they sometimes show. Birds, symbols of freedom, chirping in a world of light that emerges when the lights are turned on at night, invite us to a peaceful world of sleep where all consciousness gathers. The book is bound one page at a time, and the birds and penguins are hand-carved one by one in this special work.
