    Description

This work reflects the situation we face today. Science and technology are advancing day by day, with AI, robots, virtual reality, etc. advancing at an astonishing rate. On the other hand, there are constant wars and conflicts around the world, viruses spreading, and other sad news that never cease. When I was creating this work, I noticed that the sadness of the times was oozing from its expression, although I did not consciously try to do so. Therefore, I named this work "Sad Times. The material of the work is mainly PLA resin (polylactic acid), a naturally occurring component. The only thing that adds a delicate glow to the work is the incorporation of several glass spheres. Some parts were created using a 3D printer, but the majority were finished by hand using a 3D pen. Therefore, no two pieces can be created the same. This work is unique in the world. We hope you can feel the beauty within it, even as it contains the sadness of the times. Signature engraved on the back bottom of the work

  • About this artist

    Concept

The foundation of my creative work is based on the teachings of the I Ching, "When Yin is extreme, it turns to Yang, and when Yang is extreme, it turns to Yin," and the idea of "learning from the past. In 1979, at a time when analog was the mainstream, the Apple II demo screen gave me a taste of the art of the future. The crude computer graphics of that time are etched in my memory as "light paints" that are still central to my creative process. I believe in the fusion of analog and digital, and that even as digital technology evolves, the value of analog will be reevaluated. In particular, I would like to reinterpret ornaments from the Jomon period and ancient ruins in a modern way, recreating the beauty of the past in the modern age in the spirit of "learning from the past. Currently, my focus is on creation using a 3D pen, moving from the 2D flat world to the 3D three-dimensional world, shifting from the world of monitor displays and printing to shaping my work into three-dimensional objects that can actually be held in the hand. 3D pen produces unique lines as if handwritten, expressing the geometric patterns and wavy lines of the Jomon period. The 3D pen creates unique handwritten lines, expressing the geometric patterns and wavy lines of the Jomon period. I also incorporate elements of steampunk. I will continue to pursue the fusion of digital and analog to create the art of the future.
