    Description

This work is my exploration of color, form and vitality.
Through this work, I combined traditional cultural elements with modern aesthetic concepts to create an artistic image that is both familiar and strange.
The image of the dragon horse not only has a mythical color but also seems to challenge our cognition of reality and virtuality. Its leaping posture seems to be both getting rid of some kind of restraint and pursuing a higher level of existential meaning.
The rainbow is the most splendid combination of colors in nature, symbolizing hope, dreams and unlimited possibilities. I hope to integrate the agility of life and the dreaminess of colors.
The moment when the dragon horse, leaps high from the water, it condenses all the beauty and hope within itself and emits a rainbow-like light. At this moment, it is the dancer at the center of the world.

  • About this artist

    Concept

I like to use the image of teenagers to express sculpture creation, because they are sunny inside, positive, full of vigor and vitality, representing the hope of the future. At the same time, people in this age group are forming a unique set of life and world view inside. Physiologically speaking, teenagers are just a certain stage of our long life, but psychologically speaking, teenagers can be a state of mind that lasts a lifetime. The teenagers I portray are not a certain person, they are a group of people who travel from ancient times to today and run from today to the future. They are me, and I am them.
The sword was first invented and made as a weapon of defense or attack, and as the social order stabilized and the class solidified, it slowly evolved into an object symbolizing status. Then today, as a weapon, it has long since retired from the stage of history, but it remains forever in our hearts. It is the principle, the bottom line and the last emotional anchor for each of us, and it protects our inner trepidation. The sword that appears in my work carries such a meaning.
Human beings have created this society and invented many systems, and in turn these civilized systems are creating more and more "management models" to restrain human beings. Our bodies are becoming less and less free, our voices are becoming more and more the same, and over time, we will lose our judgment and become numb. Now only my soul and mind belong to me for the time being. I use art as a weapon for my thoughts, and it has become a vehicle for me to express my views. Most of my creations combine my own life experiences and the feedback from the social environment to generate some thoughts.
I try to express love, freedom, resistance and courage through the form of art. In my works, people or animals are a kind of "Plato" in the spiritual sense. They try to explore an ideal mode of human existence, which is called "Utopia" in the West and "Taohuayuan" in China, the ideal home that human beings long for. Our aspiration for a better life and future thinking become the driving force for society to keep progressing until we are infinitely close to that ideal home.
In terms of artistic style, I have absorbed and continued the ancient Chinese Romantic artistic expression. Through some animals in mythology or reality, I express the thoughts of people. I do not draw on the art style of a specific historical period, but focus more on the cultural lineage and the expression of humanistic feelings. I make my own artworks by studying classic Chinese and foreign sculpture art from various eras and using the essence of what I have understood in a modeling technique similar to curves and orbs.
