Very often, I was asked why I would not make a bust of a man .....
I have to admit that going out of my comfort zone was a little challenge I couldn't refuse!
For this new creation, I imagined a man, with a pronounced musculature, who would represent our current society. A warrior man, elegant, tattooed, with a touch of fantasy.
And then, the earth arena of the man, a man slave of himself, of his life, of his environment ....... with his fights: for his family, his work ....... for his planet. : SPARTACUS WAS BORN !
The bust refers to the gladiator man, adorned with a shoulder armor, while the skin of the bust is animated with modern tattoos. The underpants characterize the 21st century, with a blue "Marjorel" in reference to Yves Saint Laurent, a man at the service of women's emancipation, through fashion.
This sculpture is made exclusively from rebar and stained glass. The back is decorated with 42 squares of blue and orange stained glass pieces.
