    Description

    The profile of the neighbor's side-face. It looks like a 4cm thick plate when viewed from the front, but a human face appears when viewed from the side. The wood is engraved with stitches, each of which is marked with a piece of masking tape on one of the bundles of braids, and when viewed away, it appears to be scattered in color. The presence of an object at the edge of the eye is only a faint presence, and an image from the front can only be captured with an image. Elements other than the outline are dismantled in the image and reconstructed in the brain. It is a work that made such an attempt to see if it is possible to disassemble such an image from the strong material material of wood. Since it is not a craft, it leaves many rough parts.

    Concept

    Momoko creates her work under the theme of 'tree'. She makes sculptures with a slight shift in the viewpoint of 'wood' such as building materials, architecture, trees, preparations, fibers, and paper rather than using wood as a sculpture material. Recently, she has produced a series on architectural themes collaborating pillars, slopes, and temporary construction. She wants to create a work of wood that includes decay and changing shape. Her feeling towards wood is inspired by her grandfather, who runs a store specializing in decorative timber. Her experience surrounded by wood at a young age leads to her current style of work.
