    Description

I have been a people-watcher since I was a child, and I could watch people walking down the street without getting bored. I am interested in the intersections of relationships between people gathered at the same place and time. Some people look in the same direction, others look in different directions. The lines that connect the relationships drawn by human emotions quickly fill the place and the photograph. This intriguing beauty is my love of landscapes, and I am always wondering if I can absorb all of it into my camera.

    Concept

Tsubasa Fujikura was born in Kitahiroshima City, Hokkaido in 1977. Since 2003, he has been exhibiting a variety of photographic works. His representative works include "Lines of relation," in which he captures crowds in various locations and expresses the funny emotions of the people who gather there, and "NEON-SIGN," a unique work in which he photographs neon signs in various locations and creates them with craftwork by anonymous craftsmen, while unraveling the culture of the 1960s and 1970s, which he admires. The two works will be exhibited in Sapporo, Japan, in 2021. Both works were exhibited at the Sapporo Art Park Museum in 2021. In 2023, "NEON-SIGN9," the ninth solo exhibition in the series, traveled to Kyoto and Osaka.
