The island of Saint-Louis is beautiful in autumn and winter when seen from the right bank of the Seine. The view from the right bank of the Seine is especially beautiful, especially from the riverside walkway that curves gently to the left from the Surrey Bridge to the Marie Bridge, and is close to the water's edge. In spring and summer, the trees along the water's edge of Saint-Louis grow thick with foliage, hiding the island and its inhabitants. In autumn and winter, the leaves fall and the buildings of the island are revealed, revealing the elegant pavilions that line the Rue des Anges. The island has long been home to aristocrats and celebrities, and is known as one of the most prestigious residential areas in Paris. Paul Cézanne, a painter, lived in the pavilion in the center of the photo. Few passengers are on a sightseeing boat going down the Seine River in late autumn.
