This work is a white lotus I took on the street. About "Something behind it." I started photographing flowers on trees because of the beauty of the dogwoods in my yard after it rained. The flowers, which were taller than I was, seemed so divine to me. After several years of photographing the flowers in the trees, I began to feel the other side of them and to receive something from that other side. There is something that transcends the superficial beauty of the flowers. It is hidden within, indescribable, sacred, and essential. When we become aware of true beauty, the radiance of this inner essence is seen through the outer shell. Only when we are "present" do all things reveal their true nature. These works were taken in carefully selected weather conditions and light directions.
