    Description

The white bokeh is a deciduous shrub native to Japan that produces white flowers in early spring. The shape of its flowers, with wavy edges, gives an elegant and neat impression. In addition, white bokeh is popular as a flower with a pure and simple charm, with the words "pure heart," "purity," and "innocence" in the language of flowers. The yellow gloriosa, on the other hand, is a perennial herb native to South Africa that produces bright yellow flowers. Its trumpet-shaped flowers have an eye-catching beauty. The yellow gloriosa is also known as the flower of triumph and success, with the words "fame," "glory," and "pride" in the language of flowers. The white bokeh and the yellow gloriosa each have different characteristics, but when these two flowers are combined, what kind of story can be spun? ◎ One spring day, a single white bokeh flower was blooming quietly in the forest. Then a yellow gloriosa, which represents victory, appeared and spoke to the white bokeh. You are a very pure and innocent flower. But I am the flower of fame and glory. We are similar, but different. So let us bloom together. Our blooming together will highlight the beauty of each of us." The white bokeh decided to bloom along with the yellow gloriosa. When the two flowers bloomed together, the forest was filled with a glorious scene. The white bokeh and the yellow gloriosa complemented each other's beauty and bloomed with pride. Thus, the white bokeh and the yellow gloriosa, while having different characteristics, can create a beautiful scene when blooming together. The purity and simplicity of the white bokeh and the triumph and glory of the yellow gloriosa create a new meaning when they bloom together, creating a beautiful symphony. As this story also shows, the language of flowers is not only about the beauty of the flower, but also about the message or meaning it holds, giving color and inspiration to our lives. If a white bokeh and a yellow gloriosa bloomed together, many butterflies would dance around them and birds would visit them. Such beautiful scenes heal us and enrich our hearts. By experiencing the power and charm of flowers, we can feel the preciousness of nature and life and heal our hearts. (Review of the work by ChatGPT)

    Concept

Botanical Photo Composition. That is how I describe my artwork. Over the course of my many years as a florist, I have learned both the Japanese aesthetic of flowers as an ikebana flower arranger and the Western aesthetic of flowers as a floral designer. However, I have long felt frustrated that the beauty of the flowers I see and display every day cannot be reproduced in real life, no matter which photographer I ask. To "arrange flowers" is to ask the flowers and intentionally place them, in other words, to composite them. I realized that unless the photographer can capture the imagination of the flower arranger in his or her mind, the beauty of the flower as I see it cannot be expressed. I decided to stop leaving the photographing to others, and to photograph each flower, leaf, and branch from the perspective and angle that I myself, a long-time flower artist and hanashokunin, had intended to use to arrange the flowers, so that they would appear as individual elements, but also in harmony with the other elements at the end. I decided to photograph each flower, leaf, and branch from a viewpoint and angle based on the intent of the work. In this way, the materials for digital ikebana were freed from the constraints of season and space, and became flowers dreaming of the time when they could be arranged. I cut out these flowers, curated them according to my imagination, combined them, composed them, and composited them onto a digital canvas to present the beauty of flowers that I have witnessed and discovered in the many encounters with flowers over the course of my half-life. In this sense, I am just one of the representatives and agents of the beauty that flowers reveal.
