  • About this artist

    Concept

My creativity is a display of my attitude to the World, People, Objects with the help of digital technologies. Formulate the Light of the Sun and the Noise of the ocean wave in a two-dimensional matrix of digital art. Do not copy, but add your attitude, your smile, if necessary, or your sadness. Make it so that the viewer becomes an accomplice in the creation of the work - at the moment when he looks at it.

I have been working with digital technologies in the field of art since the 80s of the XX century. I work not only with the image - I write prose, poetry, I write music, that's why I am often called an Integral artist. In this way, I want to express in music or words what cannot be expressed in graphics, and in this way I combine different types of art. I supplement the Image with Music or the Word.

To reveal the essence of objects and phenomena through graphic tools, this is the purpose of my work.

Always interested in discovering new facets of visual digital art - this is non-figurative art, and abstraction and much more.

In addition, I like to contemplate the world around me. My favorite topic is the texture of the surrounding world. In my native city of Kyiv, this is the texture of the walls of houses, in other countries it is the texture of the surrounding nature.
In these works, from seemingly random cracks and spots of paint on the walls of houses, from tree bark, images suddenly grow up before the viewer. Unexpected, sometimes simply incredible. In this direction, the main thing is to convey this image unchanged. I'm just quoting the world without changing it with my "improvement" - it's very important to see what world wants to say. That's why I never add or delete anything. And the task of the Spectator is to see. It's a kind of meditation. A attempt to see the invisible and hear the extra-verbal.

"Volodymyr Kharchenko sets the task by means of photography, which is known to philosophy as the esoteric uncertainty of existence - that is, the blurring of the meanings of life within the framework of the final theory of signs. His photographs are both distraction, and extraction, and attraction. The artist catches the only moment when words end, and the image is just beginning.
The limit of such art contributes to its laconicism and special selectivity of views. This laconicism is such that each of Kharchenko's photographic work turns into a kind of meditation of Pythagoras, trying to find the Formula of his worldview on the coastal sand, but finding traces of children’s bare feet. The ascent of Vladimir Kharchenko into the depth of sight makes him a master geometer. He invents geometry instead of changing the world it describes. "
