I hear the sound of deer. A family of deer is moving along the steep cliffs of the pass. One wrong step and they are on the edge of the abyss. The mother deer's concern for her fawns shows deep affection." Lately, I've been seeing deer parents and their fawns a lot. Before, I used to only hear their cries from afar. The other day, I had a precious experience. As I was climbing up Bihoro Pass in Akan-Mashu National Park, I came upon a deer and its parents. I slowly pulled over to the shoulder of the road. The deer were staring at me. I quietly opened the car door and took out my camera from the trunk. Normally, the fawn would have run away from me at this point. But the fawn could not run yet, and it was just hopping around the mother deer. I guess about three minutes had passed since then. They crossed right in front of my car and moved to the grassland on the other side of the national highway. What a precious time! It is not often that I get to observe them so closely.
