Story:
While planning my autumn trip to Canada, I set out to find the perfect waterfalls to explore. That’s when Parc de la Chute-Montmorency caught my eye. Satellite images revealed not only the stunning main waterfall but also a stretch of rapids—Les Rapides—just a few hundred meters upriver.
Though I couldn’t spot any official trails, photos from the area showed people lounging by the water, which gave me the confidence that access to this natural spot would be easy.
We rented a cozy lodge nearby, making it effortless to explore on foot without the hassle of finding parking—a huge relief since most of the places I want to photograph are often devoid of parking spaces.
The water wasn’t as crystal-clear as I had imagined, but the foam that danced along the backwater created a beautiful contrast. I loved the way the dynamic flow of the river contrasted with the ancient, weathered rocks, carved by centuries of water and time.
