    Description

    Description:
Printed with a 12 inkjet printer over Hahnemühle Baryta paper. Signed certificate of authenticity.

    Story:
The village of Val-Jalbert, nestled in Quebec, Canada, was established in 1901 by Damase Jalbert. The village’s heart was a pulp mill, strategically located at the base of the majestic Ouiatchouan Falls. This mill operated for nearly three decades, from 1901 to 1927, until it was abandoned, leaving the village in a state of desolation. Today, visitors can explore the remnants of the mill, where the power plant still stands, harnessing the energy of the river that creates the awe-inspiring Ouiatchouan Falls. The mill has been transformed into a museum, offering visitors a fascinating glimpse into its past. Additionally, the museum boasts an excellent restaurant, providing a delightful dining experience amidst the surrounding natural beauty. My mission was to capture its water and share the breathtaking magnificence of this waterfall.

    Concept

I am a passionate photographer, blessed with curious eyes that are constantly amazed by the forms and designs produced by water, and the combination of its temperature and light. No matter how many pictures I take of the same shot, every time I witness a very different expression.

My camera and I have been traveling around the world since 1977, registering its shapes and essence, which I have been sharing through large prints, as an homage to its abundance, fragility and essential existence; trying to convey the feeling I had at the time of the capture, most of the time in color and sometimes in monochrome.
