    Description

    Description:
Printed with a 12 inkjet printer over Hahnemühle Baryta paper. Signed certificate of authenticity.

    Story:
During our visit to the northern region of Spain, I decided to add a visit to the Cascada de Boltaña waterfall towards the end of our trip. The satellite directions indicated a very long drive, but I trusted my instincts and drove towards the town of Boltaña, believing the route should be shorter.
Upon arrival, I discovered that the name Cascada de Boltaña referred to two waterfalls: Pózas de San Martín and Cascada del Confesionario. The road leading to them was narrow, and while there were clear signs at the beginning, they soon disappeared. With no internet signal to verify our location, we continued on until we found a parking area with a small sign pointing to a trail. We had no idea how long the trail would be.
The first challenge was crossing a small creek by stepping over large rocks. After walking about a kilometer, we reached Pózas de San Martín, which translates to "pools." Unfortunately, these pools had very little water flowing through them, which was disappointing. I took a few photos before deciding to continue to the second waterfall. However, the trail became very slippery due to the clay formation, which gave the ground a yellow/orange color. Although I noticed water pipes along the side of the trail, potentially reducing the water volume, the uncertainty about finding a significant waterfall led me to decide to turn back.

  • About this artist

    Concept

I am a passionate photographer, blessed with curious eyes that are constantly amazed by the forms and designs produced by water, and the combination of its temperature and light. No matter how many pictures I take of the same shot, every time I witness a very different expression.

My camera and I have been traveling around the world since 1977, registering its shapes and essence, which I have been sharing through large prints, as an homage to its abundance, fragility and essential existence; trying to convey the feeling I had at the time of the capture, most of the time in color and sometimes in monochrome.
