    Description

    Description:
Printed with a 12 inkjet printer over Hahnemühle Baryta paper. Signed certificate of authenticity.

    Story:
The hornero birds are members of the genus Furnarius in the family Furnariidae, native to South America. The English common name appears in many books as "ovenbird".
Horneros invest heavily in the construction of a large mud, oven-shaped, nest. The temperature inside the nest is higher and less variable than outside nests, so they become an incubation chamber, allowing greater time to foraging and less time to incubate.

The first time I saw an hornero nest, was on my summer holidays at Santa Cruz -Bolivia, I was bout 8 or 9 years old. Possibly, I saw them a few additional times, but it wasn’t until last month, when visiting a vineyard at Tarija that I encountered various nests, images which I share.

    Concept

I am a passionate photographer, blessed with curious eyes that are constantly amazed by the forms and designs produced by water, and the combination of its temperature and light. No matter how many pictures I take of the same shot, every time I witness a very different expression.

My camera and I have been traveling around the world since 1977, registering its shapes and essence, which I have been sharing through large prints, as an homage to its abundance, fragility and essential existence; trying to convey the feeling I had at the time of the capture, most of the time in color and sometimes in monochrome.
