Story:
For many years I wanted to visit the Salt Lake of “Salar de Uyuni”, one of the biggest in the world at 3663 meters above sea level, where the largest reservoir of Lithium is found and currently being extracted.
Around 1976 while visiting a mine in the South of Bolivia, I flew over the majestic lake on a small airplane; unfortunately, I did not have my camera on board, besides the small plane shacked well, which would have produced blurred images, as I used slow film.
Last week, visiting family in Bolivia, the return flight passed over it with a clear morning sky, where I was able to take a few images that came out well despite the 3 layers that the commercial airplane windows have, as well as some scratches.
Contrary as you would think, the small rivers flow towards the lake, where the water then disappears.
