AK presence portrait was shot in december 2013.
I have lived with this art piece in my old atelier for a long time and got really attached to it. It is also the one i do always use as a reference to explain the 'presence' project. Ak is a very special friend of mine. She s a strong woman who holds a lot of power and determination.
It s been exhibited so far in Paris, Brussel and Montréal. since 2018.
I started to shoot this project in 2012 and kept it secret until 2018

about the serie :
In Presence, the research explores identity by projecting images of the subjects faces on their bodies. These photographic anamorphoses are fine-tuned during the shoot, not in postproduction. They make the spectator question their vision. Before shooting, I visualize the desired image by superimposing different layers of images in an art installation. The goal is to divert the spectator's gaze between the projected face and the canvas-body, creating surprises and equivocal evidence. Through playful, ambiguous, and dreamlike compositions, the series seeks to reveal the authenticity and strength of the posing subject's intimate, incarnated, and desexualized body.
