    Description

The building was originally a storefront residence built in 1927 as part of a reconstruction project following the Great Kanto Earthquake, but it has deteriorated without any particular maintenance since its completion. It was demolished in 2012 due to concerns about its earthquake resistance after being damaged in the Great East Japan Earthquake. This work was taken when the Kudanshita Building was opened to the public for the last time before its demolition. It has been exactly 10 years since the demolition, and I decided to register this work as a record of the building's memory. My work is printed on FUJICOLOR genuine professional super glossy crystal paper. It takes about 5 days for delivery and about 1 week for delivery in Japan, as the printer checks the finished product one by one. The artist's name is watermarked on the image to prevent unauthorized reproduction, but the watermark will not be on the artwork you order.

  • About this artist

    Concept

I would like to express the movement in a photograph that should be a still image. The moment I create a work that fits the image in my mind, my heart is healed. Because I use this kind of technique, I can never make the same artwork again. The moment I create a work that fits the image in my mind, my heart is healed.

The moment I create a work that fits the image in my mind, my heart is healed. To do this, I sometimes layer two or three images that were taken separately. It is very difficult to adjust the degree of overlap. The moment I create a work that perfectly matches the image in my mind, my heart is healed. Because of this method, my work can never be made the same again.
