Abbazia di Santa Maria in Falerii.
Falerii, is the name of an ancient Faliscan city in southern Etruria and the main center of the Faliscan-Capenate enclave; following its destruction by the Romans known as Falerii Veteres, it was rebuilt by the Romans themselves, on another site, and for this reason referred to as Falerii Novi. Corresponds to the current Civita Castellana. Falerii Novi is a Roman city, located on the current municipal territory of Fabrica di Roma about halfway between Fabrica di Roma and Civita Castellana.
The archaeological site of the Etruscan-Faliscan city now depends on the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage for southern Etruria. It is on a road that perhaps could be the via Annia, a deviation of the via Cassia; this road approaches from the south coming from Nepet (now Nepi), while its continuation to the north certainly takes the name of via Amerina, the road that led to Amelia.
