Its creation served as a beacon of hope, enabling the artist to raise 1590€ in support of dozens of families affected by the conflict in Ukraine. The charitable donation was directed to the esteemed non-profit organization "Save The Children" in Germany, a country that has sheltered over a million Ukrainian war refugees to date, July 2023.
Measuring 80x60cm, this original collage beautifully represents the map of Europe adorned with the vibrant hues of the 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐠. Though commonly recognized as the banner of the LGBTQ+ Rights movement, the rainbow colors originally originated from the "bandiera della pace" or peace flag. Their first use in Italy during a peace march in 1961 predates their association with the homosexual community, which eventually became synonymous with the San Francisco Gay Pride in 1978.
This heartwarming charity art project served as a testament to the strength of unity and the innate selflessness and generosity that humans display during trying times.
Crafted with immense dedication, the artist employed their unique technique, cutting approximately 300 magazine pieces by hand, investing around 25 hours of work into this extraordinary landscape.
