    Description

This is a very delicate work cut from a sheet of paper with scissors. It will be delivered framed, but the work will be glued in several places to the mount (Japanese paper). If you would like the work alone, please let us know. Origami" is a traditional Japanese game such as "Ayatori," "OHASHIKI," and "OTEDAMA," but even though it has been replaced by other games over the years, "Origami" is still popular among children. The way flowers and animals are formed from a single sheet of paper is a source of wonder and excitement for children. Among them, I have had many opportunities to fold origami paper cranes as "senbazuru" (a thousand folded paper cranes) to pray for long life and recovery from illness, and my hands still remember how to fold them even as an adult. Even now, as an adult, my hands still remember how to fold them. I hope that this exhibition will help people to reflect on the fact that we live our lives surrounded by such things. The language of flowers: beauty of tradition

  • About this artist

    Concept

There are many beautiful things in Japanese culture that have been handed down from generation to generation. Nature, traditional crafts, and patterns all have their own meanings. It may be the language of flowers, a dove symbolizing peace, a turtle shell pattern wishing long life, or even the mizuhiki used for celebratory occasions. I believe that the feelings of consideration for others and wishes for safety that have taken root in Japan have been integrated into our daily lives in various ways. These things are expressed in Yoshi's works. Although his paper cutouts are simply cut from black paper, he does not use color, allowing the viewer to feel the work in his or her favorite color. The colors you feel may change depending on the time of year or the time of day. You can enjoy such changes and compare them to your own heart. These works are designed to give people a chance to take a breath in their daily lives.
