I have been drawing pictures based on family photos for about 10 years now. I like the process of selecting motifs while thinking, imagining, and empathizing with various things as I flip through the family photo albums, and then I paint while transforming the colors of the moment reflected in the photo and the colors that have faded over the years. This work was painted based on a photograph taken the day my family and I went to visit an acquaintance's house. The acquaintance's house, located in the mountains, was surrounded by snow-covered trees and deep snow. I painted this work while looking at the various colors of snow reflected in the natural light, remembering how excited I was to see the beautiful snowy landscape spread out before my eyes and how worried I was about whether I would be able to return home. The work is painted in gouache on a handmade wooden panel (70mm x 90mm x 5mm). The frame is 175mm (H) x 175mm (W) x 30mm (H). To prevent fading due to sunlight, please keep the work out of direct sunlight. To prevent deterioration of the artwork, please keep it away from moisture. The surface of the panel is made of soft material, so please handle with care.
