The early and dry spring of 2024 caused simultaneous and short-term flowering of plants that usually bloom sequentially. So the lilacs bloomed very quickly and little. I barely managed to collect a modest bouquet, already half drying. Large shaggy brushes required a large format, so I made the work on a piece of tinted watercolor cardboard, part of which I used to frame (mat) another work.
Although the cardboard was watercolor, the specific “lilac” color was difficult to apply to it. The color looked dull, so I had to scratch out many areas. But the green and red fit well on this cardboard. Overall, the work conveys this hot and dry spring. Maybe the viewer will even be able to smell that characteristic smell that seems to come from this color.
