Strength, power, courage, greatness, pride, spiritual uplift, freedom, victory - the associations that arise in us when we see a beautiful, majestic bird soaring high in the sky, spreading its mighty wings and conquering the air elements. The eagle is one of the oldest symbols. It is mentioned in many legends. Since ancient times, the eagle has been revered by all peoples and placed on a par with the strongest and most powerful animals on Earth, being the king in the sky just as the lion is on earth.
Considered a symbol of spiritual heights, in Greece, Persia, China and other ancient cultures the Eagle was identified with the sun. He was considered a companion and messenger of the gods. The Greeks often depicted him with lightning in his claws as the bearer of the lightning of Zeus, and in some legends Zeus himself turned into an Eagle and descended to earth to fulfill his will, as, for example, in the myth of Prometheus.
He was seen as an expression of divine majesty, genuine courage, inspiration and the ability to overcome difficulties through the ability to soar into the skies high enough to connect with the Sun and fly boldly among lightning and thunder.
