    Description

Every day of our war, we are under constant shelling and attack by rashist troops. We live every day like it's our last. Many of us cannot return home because bombs are flying, many cities have been destroyed and wiped off the face of the earth, some have been flooded after the destruction of the Kakhovka dam.
I created another picture from the "Ukrainian Revival" series from the impression of important and terrible events. My city Kherson suffered greatly in this unjust war with the enemy. But I am doing this series of watercolor works with thoughts about our better future, about the revival and new formation of a stronger state and our society. Ukrainians and all civilized people should draw their own lessons and conclusions from these events. We must continue to learn, work and build a better community, be an example for our descendants.
In this picture, through the allegory of underwater grace, I conveyed the desire of Ukraine to swim out, to rise from the depths to the surface. This is a necessity for our people. The tragic face of the marble statue conveys the state of our country in this difficult time. The face looks up hopefully. Water symbols: lotus and fish complement the ornaments like underwater thickets.
I depicted my painting in restrained colors and supplemented it with an inscription in Ukrainian.

  • About this artist

    Concept

I have been painting since birth. I studied for many years and still do not stop improving in painting. I always said that I would create under the bombs. And now this time has come. And yes, I continue to work. Only now I'm sitting with a brush, and inside I'm squeezing from anger, pain, resentment. Many of us fight in different ways: someone with a gun, someone with a word, someone with creativity.
I never wait for inspiration! It is always with me. My credo is beauty, light, harmony in every artwork!
In my work, I am inspired by the world around me: nature, the female image, the architecture of cities, the sea. I like to express my understanding of the world and what is happening through symbolism in paintings. In my paintings I often use stylization, ornaments, collages of figures, flowers, architecture. The female image is the most important for me in painting.
For many centuries, a woman has been deprived of the right to manifest her individuality, feelings, experiences. It is difficult for a woman in this world, I pass this image through myself. I want to leave the female image, for many years, as vulnerable, sensual, unknown as nature.
I love watercolor for its elusiveness, danger, unpredictability. I find these traits in the female image as well. Watercolors are delicate, unpredictable, you never know how the paint will lay on paper, how the colors will flow and mix. I love to create series of paintings that inspire me: woman, flowers, Renaissance, Impressionism, Art Nouveau.
Symbolism unites the world of things and ideas. Art is the key to the mystery of symbols. Metaphor, allegories, symbols convey what cannot be explained, but can be felt, understood. Symbolism through painting helps to understand the essence, riddle, innuendo of nature and man. This performance is the contrast of color, material, artistic techniques.
There are many problems in the world, wars, hatred, diseases, and I express support for some of the ideas of society in my paintings. I often draw tender, vulnerable female images, as I myself have been subjected to sexism, humiliation, pressure due to the fact that I am a woman. I myself fought for my freedom of expression, I am proud that I am an artist. With my painting, I inspire people to search for beauty around us.
