Words heard from the work
You can't understand the umami in me that's left.
I painted this work with the image of a teacup with grains of rice left in it.
The rice grains on the bowl are made of Japanese paper to give the impression of real rice.
In the background, I used a large group of grains of rice and the actual palm of my hand to represent a feast.
Even a single grain of food is a precious life given to us.
