The painting is made in the technique of watercolors on Museum-quality paper. In March 2019, she participated in the exhibition of Botanical paintings and illustrations "Spring is not far off" in the Apothecary garden of Moscow state University. These charming, mysterious black tulips… Dreaming of spring, I immediately thought of colorful tulips fluttering in the wind.. But it was the black ones that bothered the artist. So many interesting stories are connected with this flower and its appearance. Where do you think the Tulip comes from? We immediately imagine the Netherlands, but in fact the birthplace of tulips – Greece. The earliest references are found in the literary works of Persia 6-7 centuries. Here this flower was called "dulbash" or "turban" (turban). From Persia, the Tulip went to Turkey, where the sultans held festivals in their gardens in the evenings and released turtles into the Tulip fields. A lighted candle was tied to the shell of each turtle. Turtles crawled among the tulips, lighting up the flower cups. It was a magnificent sight! And only in the 16th century, thanks to the Ambassador of the Austrian Emperor, a batch of Tulip bulbs gets to the Vienna garden, the Director of which was a botanist from Holland. And in 1570, he returned to his homeland, taking with him the tulips. So the tulips got to Holland, where they were destined to find a great fame.
