Description

Walking around sunny St. Petersburg, I suddenly saw this powerful, muscular, brutal bike. Its chrome surface reflects the city. I thought that when he roared past the streets, all you could see was his flashing red shadow.
For this painting, I used professional watercolors , which include semi-precious stones such as garnet and amethyst. The work is made on cotton French paper.

Concept

Watercolor for me is an opportunity to express impressions of what I saw in travels, to convey my feelings from the diversity and uniqueness of the surrounding world. With the help of a brush, I can show the barely noticeable variability of the atmosphere, air, light. Everything that can be instantly imprinted in memory, but so difficult to explain in words. I prefer the "wet" technique, when the paint is applied to paper soaked with plenty of water. I like that watercolor paints themselves are involved in the creation of the picture. Sometimes, on a wet paper sheet, the image looks fuzzy, a little blurry, like a memory or a dream. I try to pick up on the hints that watercolor gives me by interacting with the damp surface of the paper and develop our dialogue with it without turning it into an argument. Bring those emotions and energy that inspire me to work.
