Work from the new cycle "Flowers - Fixation".
In this series, I fix the moment of pleasure from the contemplation of fresh flowers.
The flower-growing industry is causing enormous damage to the environment, and the value of owning them is momentary. The painting is permanent, does not fade, is forever. A living flower is a second that is absorbed into the ground by toxic water, leaving nothing behind.
My personal experience as a florist has shown how people reduce the value of living plants, how frivolously they treat them. Most often, bouquets are used for a photo session for an hour,
or for a one-day decoration.
It gives a very short-term emotion. A sustainable world is much more valuable.
The work is done on paper in mixed media: watercolor, ink, pen.
