In this minimalistic work you can observe artworks hanging in a room, possibly an exhibition room. But it's like the artworks have a life on its own. They formation of the artworks on the wall continue as some kind of reflection on the floor.
This work is part of the series 'Imaginary Rooms' that I started in november 2005, in response of a Surrealistic painting in the style of Giorgio De Chirico, that I saw hanging on the wall when I visited a friend. It will be the first time that I use visually recognisable elements in my artwork trying to set up a kind of communication with the viewer.
Working Method: 'écriture automatique' (Automatic Drawing) I draw immediately with Indian ink on a blank sheet of paper without sketch in pencil. I have no idea what I'm going to create on forehand. That's exactly the state of mind I want or 'need' to create.
