MARIA MAGDALENA IN THE GROTTO

Concept

"Expressionists scribble too much"; this phrase always echoes in my mind as the emancipatory north of my process, I saw it in an exhibition that I visited in 2010 which worked, since then, as a sign; the freedom in the process occurs, for me, precisely in this search for the ideal of the image through its interiorization and the particularity in expressing it. This particularity is myself showing myself for the work and consequently showing my sincerity and my best in the work. I seek, however, a beauty, and this beauty is also a record of what I perceived in my contemplation and my contact with the image, which can be the image of nature itself, or the impression of the photo or some media record, or even that born in my imagination, not worrying about the exact likeness, but with what my eye can capture and the way it shows it perceived, because I see beauty in this frankness, which is that of a particular realism, or rather, interior.
The images lie in nature and in memory, with memory being the timelessness of temporal nature, the impressions of the images I produce come from both sources, composing a metaphysics of the image, whose expression expresses in the work the elements of the natural form as well as elements of the image interior that the artist evokes from his imagination and from the very veiled face of nature noticed and revealed by the artistic process.
