    Description

    Flowers Blooming in the Darkness
As we grow, it is inevitable for everyone to have inner deficiencies.
We cannot attain perfection, and we often face pain and sadness.
I have always relied on defense mechanisms to avoid confronting my true self.
While my work appears dazzling on the surface, it is rooted in the diverse experiences I have had in my life. The vibrant poppy flower blooming on the multiple layered Mukk (korean traditional ink) on Hanji (korean traditional paper) is much like our lives.
Its intricate lines and vibrant colors embody individual sadness.
Each person encounters unpredictable stories and experiences that they cannot share with anyone else. Various emotions coexist within us, and mixed up emotions make darkness.
As the darkness deepens, the gorgeous lines of emotions become even clearer.
Like the language of the poppy flower, I aim to convey comfort and solace via this flower.
Sometimes, I seek solace in daydreams, allowing myself to momentarily escape from the harsh realities of life.
I also take the opportunity to observe my surroundings, sharing love and comfort with those who are dear to me.
Through the cycle of flowers blooming and withering, as the faded days pass away, we discover that flowers continue to bloom beautifully even in the darkness.
    Flowers will continue to bloom

(Black wood frame and acrylic panel)
