    Description

    A hard-earned thirst needs a big cold beer. I was intrigued to explore the universal culture of beer drinking. It's used as a means of socialising and relaxing with predominantly masculine undertones. I wanted to take it out of this context and compare it with other mindfulness practices such as meditation or communing with nature. What healthy ways exist for men to commune and unwind in ways that aren't toxic.

    I first began painting when I returned to Australia in 2016. I had lived in Yokohama Japan for three years, and my painting practice was a part of my process on reflecting on my time living overseas, and also a way of trying to rediscover my Australian identity.

    • If you want to hang a canvas with a hook, a hook type with a long hooking surface, such as a V-shaped type is recommended.
    • If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
