Received "Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award" at the 30th All Japan Art Salon Grand Prize Exhibition! In 2020, he won the "Special Prize" at the Modern Art Association of Japan Exhibition! This is the No. 30 version of the "Can't Be Defeated" series. Most of the work was done in colored pencil. Acrylic white was used for the snow part. This work depicts the scene immediately after the Great East Japan Earthquake. Japan has experienced many disasters in the past. The Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Kumamoto Earthquake, and the torrential rain disaster in Hiroshima are fresh in our memories. The victims' hearts are filled with deep, wrenching grief. Anger that has no place to go. And frustration. But people have always risen from the depths of their disappointment. I wanted to express such Japanese spirit and strength of mind in my work. We wanted to express the strength that will not be defeated in the current coronary transitions. We will rise up and overcome. We will not be defeated!
