The picture raises a difficult question for the audience: Is there life after the fall?
The protagonist goes through a difficult period in his life, problems from all sides engulf him, whiskey and cigarettes exacerbate his condition, seemingly a little more and malevolent octopus down him to the bottom from which he will never escape.
But suddenly, a female image emerges, a meeting with a like-minded person takes place, a turning point in life. Usually, in life, it happens when it feels like there’s no way out, he’s there.
I use a lot of artistic imagery in this picture, to enhance the perception effect. I always draw attention to it in red, and I always increase the agony. I ask the audience: how far can we fall? How many times can we get up? Has he ever encountered an octopus? Each will resolve this issue in his own way, based on his or her experience of good and evil.
