Description

The Theme that forms the basis of this dear work entitled Grow & Rot is covid-19. Where happened in November 2019 in China. Then the emergance of health protocols during this NEW NORMAL. What makes me sick of feeling shackled and limited space of expression. And the plant image suggests that we are forced to try to thrive doing things we shouldn`t,for example,health protocols that make us feel uncomfortable and free. As for the picture of the bone that i put on the top of an elderly person,it means the rotting of this body because it is cosumed by the bitterness of an suffering, and ends tragically into a bone that is lifeless. I want to be like a butterfly fliying freely as a please le the sun shine on my skin.

Concept

Rio januardi ramdan is a freelance illustrator based in Bandung, Indonesia, working primarily with pen and ink, I used the pen method to create a very detailed Black and White illustration. Taking the influence of illustrator jhond dyer baizley, richey beckett, chrispanatier he creates such extraordinary characters. The illustration that i have done include rumah cording music Suddendeath record, clothing brand Deadrose, Eleftheria storage, Evania cloth, then band logos such as Parrasies noise, Wrath and others.
And recently i have participated in a collective exhibition with my friend including :
- Rumah kliwon art collective
- Boredoom postering
- Titik hitam exhibition art
Inspirations related to the illustrations that i do include girlfriend, plants, and animals.
