In "Peaches and Silver," a silver plate sits on a wooden board, elegantly displaying four peaches and a twig with lush green leaves. Behind the plate, a silver jug with intricate reflections catches the light, adding a sense of depth and complexity to the composition. To the right, a folded cloth adorned with delicate ornaments lies gracefully, with another peach resting atop. The objects are set against a deep black background, which enhances the vibrant colors and reflective surfaces, drawing the viewer’s focus to the fine details.
"Peaches and Silver" is a celebration of contrasts—organic versus crafted, soft fruits against hard metallic surfaces, and vibrant peaches set against a dark, mysterious background. The silver plate and jug, with their many reflections, represent refinement and human artistry, while the peaches and the twig symbolize the natural beauty and simplicity of nature.
The interplay of light and shadow on the jug and the cloth creates a dialogue between stillness and movement, as the reflections seem to shift and change depending on the viewer’s perspective. The folded ornamental cloth adds a touch of elegance, suggesting the merging of luxury with the humble, natural forms of the fruit.

From the very beginning of my artistic activity, I was always committed to realism. Abstraction or complete non-objectivity were never an option for me.
In my early years I had an inclination towards the fantastic realism of the Vienna School, which I gave up after a while. Reality was and is always fantastic enough for me.
In the 1990s I turned to photorealism. A photo represents a certain type of reality that fascinates me. A photograph comes no closer to reality than any other form of pictorial representation; it is always as subjective as the gaze of the person looking through the viewfinder.
But photography contains information in the density that I need for my painting.
Art is a process that initially penetrates from the outside to the inside, is filtered and processed by the brain and radiates back to the viewer via the work of art.
The viewer does not necessarily have to have the same mental experience as the artist, since the same process of perception takes place in the viewer from the outside in with the filtering through the brain and the experiences they have had up to that point. Each viewer may come to a different conclusion regarding the work being viewed.
