    Description

This pastel painting captures a serene and intimate still life. At the center, a peach rests on a wooden shelf, its warm surface radiating a gentle glow. Beside it, a delicate twig with verdant leaves and two soft pink blossoms adds an element of grace and subtle beauty. The dark, black background provides a stark contrast, making the subjects appear almost luminous.

The peach symbolizes the sweetness and abundance of life, its ripe form suggesting maturity and fulfillment. The twig with its fresh leaves and tender blossoms represents growth and renewal, the blossoms hinting at the fleeting nature of beauty and the cycles of life. The wooden shelf anchors the composition, grounding these natural elements in a simple, rustic setting.

This painting can be interpreted as a meditation on the passage of time and the transient nature of beauty. The ripe peach and blooming flowers capture a moment of peak vitality, a brief but precious phase in the lifecycle. The dark background serves as a reminder of the inevitable transitions that follow, while also highlighting the fleeting perfection of the present.

In "Eternal Moment," the interplay of light and dark, maturity and new beginnings, invites viewers to appreciate the ephemeral beauty of life's peak moments and to find joy in the ever-changing cycles of nature.

  • About this artist

    Concept

From the very beginning of my artistic activity, I was always committed to realism. Abstraction or complete non-objectivity were never an option for me.
In my early years I had an inclination towards the fantastic realism of the Vienna School, which I gave up after a while. Reality was and is always fantastic enough for me.
In the 1990s I turned to photorealism. A photo represents a certain type of reality that fascinates me. A photograph comes no closer to reality than any other form of pictorial representation; it is always as subjective as the gaze of the person looking through the viewfinder.
But photography contains information in the density that I need for my painting.

Art is a process that initially penetrates from the outside to the inside, is filtered and processed by the brain and radiates back to the viewer via the work of art.
The viewer does not necessarily have to have the same mental experience as the artist, since the same process of perception takes place in the viewer from the outside in with the filtering through the brain and the experiences they have had up to that point. Each viewer may come to a different conclusion regarding the work being viewed.
